Field books, 1899-1967.

Over 2000 bound volumes which contain notes, calculations, and sketches made during field surveys in the course of making maps, remaking or verifying maps, or establishing bench marks. Included are field books prepared by engineer E. Ankener, ca. 1903-1917. Book and page numbers of field books' survey records for a particular locale are superimposed on maps to provide an index to field books.
